On the Wheel of the Year, our next holiday is Yule, the Winter Solstice. On the longest night of the year, we welcome back the return of the sun. Although it feels as if the winter is just beginning, we have already made it through the darkest time of the year, and with the return of the light comes hope and renewal. Our descent into darkness has reached its peak, and as the wheel turns, the light returns. In the darkest hour, there is always a spark of hope, a sign of light and renewal, and it is this return of the light that we celebrate at Yule.
